Since 2007 Hamas took control of Gaza, and remained the ruling authority, it faced countless military, political, and economic challenges. Amidst a lengthy Israeli blockade and repeated wars, Hamas was the major resistant force.
Yet, since the outbreak of the genocide in Gaza, and in light of the entire world’s failure to stop the injustice and aggression against Gaza, and the international community’s inability to fulfil its duties, leaving the Palestinians alone as prey to their enemy without the slightest Islamic, Arab, or international support, honest people and many families of martyrs have spoken of a major choice: Hamas must relinquish its authority in the Strip, especially given that people in Gaza are left alone facing the most brutal war machine in the world.
Loyal Palestinians and other sincere people believe that the bloodshed of innocents must be spared, based on the jurisprudential principle that “preventing harm takes precedence over achieving benefits.” This means that preventing harm or eliminating damage must take priority over achieving benefits or benefits.
In this sense, if a benefit and a harm conflict, prioritizing the prevention of the harm is the default, even if the benefit is greater. Sparing the blood of children and innocents now takes precedence over the victory of the resistance, even if only temporarily. The spirit of resistance remains and has existed before and after Hamas.
Victory is coming, when each one of us fears Allah (God). The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Will that be because of our small numbers at that time? He replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and last enervation into your hearts. Someone asked: What is wahn (enervation). Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): He replied: Love of the world and dislike of death.
Now, some muslim cities became the destination of those who seek haram pleasures, adultery among muslim men and women، alcohol consumption, gambling exist on a scale that cannot be denied, some muslim men and women are not ashamed to commit zina online, justifications to commit al fahsha wa al munkr are always there for those who don’t fear Allah, they replace the Halal with Haram without any shame, the strong oppresses the weak, prisons filled with sinless detainees, power spoiled the souls. Hamas inside Gaza favors their fellowers, in food, in medication, and in everything. If haram, oppression and injustice are spread among muslims, then don’t ask about the victory, let everyone of us ask oneself first, then victory will come.
The victory will come when we are honest with ourselves, when are good to all human beings, when we respect minorities and give them their rights. To be a good Muslim is to be a good human to every creature on this earth, victory will come when we stop lying, cheating and oppressing, when we become good humans.
The Times of Israel reminds us of how and when we were great:
“One of the Old City of Jerusalem’s liveliest streets is actually a small plaza called Omar iben Al-Khatab Square, named for the second Caliph of the Islamic world. It runs from just inside Jaffa Gate to the beginning of the Armenian Quarter at Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate Road, and bursts with both ancient and relatively modern historical sites.
Brilliant, sensitive, tolerant and an administrative whiz, Omar visited Jerusalem soon after Muslim Arabs conquered the Holy City in 638. Omar revered many of the Old Testament’s most significant personalities, and greatly honored Judaism’s holy sites – including the peak on which Solomon erected the magnificent First Temple.
Thus when he ascended to the Temple Mount and found it overflowing with trash, Omar was enraged. He immediately ordered the rubbish removed — and, say some, he helped clear it out with his own hands.
At one point Jerusalem Bishop Sophronius invited the Caliph to join him for prayers inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Omar is said to have refused, explaining that were he to accept, Muslims might immediately ravish this most important of Christian sites and replace it with a mosque dedicated to Islam. He then proceeded to pray outside the church — exactly where a mosque named for the Caliph is located today.”
Also, victory requires equipment and supplies, there were miscalculations, when the resistance decided to carry out some operation.
Instead of losing the remaining lives of innocents, let us focus on what is more important to achieve the goal.
The Quran states: And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of God and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allah does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allah shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly.
And Allah also says in the Quran:
And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.
Human lives are so sacred, the Quran also states: “And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful.”
وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ إِنَّ اللهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًا﴾، النساء: ٢٩
We are not advocates of surrender or humiliation, and Allah (God Almighty) knows that the primary goal is to spare the blood of innocents in Gaza. More importantly, the people of Gaza know best their own circumstances and the conditions of their Strip. They are the ones entrusted with expressing their wounds and hopes. They are the people of blood and the owners of the land. I spoke with many of the people, with the families of the martyrs, who are supporters of liberating the land and defeating the occupation. The majority of them believe that sparing the blood of the innocent people of Gaza takes precedence over allowing Hamas to remain in power. Amidst the destruction, devastation, ruins of collapsed homes, and the cries of grieving hearts, the cries of the bereaved rise up for Hamas to leave the Strip, hoping to save what remains of the lives, to put things in order, heal wounds, and show mercy to the people of Gaza and its children, who have lost their way, whose cries have become louder, and who live in hell. The Israeli aggression has left approximately 200,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and tens of thousands missing, amidst massive destruction and famine that has killed and continues to kill dozens of children and the elderly daily, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
Several reports indicate that more than 100,000 people have been injured since the October 7 operation and require prosthetic limbs, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. A generation of children with amputated limbs now resides in Gaza, and a large percentage of young people will grow up suffering from disabilities resulting from the war of extermination.
What does Hamas presence in Gaza mean?
Hamas’ continued presence in Gaza represents more killing, destruction, devastation, death, the destruction of everything green and dry, and the annihilation of what remains of the living. This is the most costly option in the short term, especially given the absence of any Arab, Islamic, or international support, leaving Gaza as easy prey for the enemies and their allies. From the perspective of the strategic calculations of the Palestinian interest, the continuation of resistance is the essence of the Palestinian cause, but flight and retreat are also tools for victory and survival.
