In the same breath Trump lifted hold on 2,000 lb bombs to Israel, to continue its killings, burning of Palestinian babies and children alive, to continue its crimes, its destructions of hospitals, schools, churches and mosques by his American weapons, he described Gaza as a “demolition site” and boldly suggested displacing nearly 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza, and pushing them into Jordan and Egypt. And without any feelings of shame, he called this ethnic cleansing a way to “clean out” Gaza, dehumanising Palestinians.

The horrifying words of the so-called Peacemaker Trump and his allies, the Israeli officials expose, once again, the brutal expansionist mindset of the Israeli occupation and its Western supporters, his words carries the dream of greater Israel. 

This is nothing new, it is the same goal the Israeli occupation has pursued for the past century, ethnic cleansing, land theft, and the destruction of Palestinian existence.

But he doesn’t acknowledge why Gaza is a demolition zone, or the human loss linked to this carnage. He doesn’t say that Israel caused this human catastrophe, using American weapons and with the support of the previous and recent American administrations. There is nothing more inept or more complicit than this foolishness. He is just more arrogant, more blatant than ever. 

Moreover, he has promised Netanyahu that he would be able to resume the war on Gaza if negotiations in later stages of the ceasefire prove ineffective.

Undoubtedly, none of the Israeli crimes against humanity have been possible without the full support of Western countries, from military aid to political cover, western allies have enabled and fueled Israel’s colonizational ambitions, Israeli oppression, crimes and genocide.

Israel has used every weapon in its arsenal, from destructive air strikes, to blockades, siege, controlling essential supplies like water and food, and committing outright war crimes. It took and continues to take hostages, demolish homes, steal land, and wage genocidal wars, all while claiming to seek “peace.” 

And now, with Western leaders like Trump, are supporting plans for mass displacement of people in Gaza, their goal of erasing the Palestinians becomes even clearer. 

It is way past time to stand up to this tyranny.
