What they don’t know is that Hamas is not a person or a group of people that can be killed, assassinated or burned alive as they have done to innocent civilians in Gaza. Hamas is an idea rooted in the hearts of people. Hamas is the dutiful child of an Egyptian ideology born out of a single idea, an idea based on the right.
People die, but their ideas based on the right don’t die. A single idea can lead to victory, to success, a single idea can destroy strongholds, defeat armies, establish or demolish empires, a single idea can change our lives, can change the whole world. Neither the most powerful armies nor tyrannies can have power over ideas.
But the calculations of tyrants and oppressors are always narrow minded and short sighted. They imagine that by killing people, they will kill their ideas. The Zionists and their allies thought that by the assassination of Hanniyah, Sinwar, Al Rantisi, Sheikh Ahmed Yasin, Ghassan Kanfani, and many other heroes, they had killed their ideas that sparked resistance.
They do not know that by killing those heroes; they put the compass back on its right path, and those brave heroes will be icons for everyone, icons for the coming generations, they will inspire them, they will be imitated and even revived again. Generations will be inspired by the depth of their ideas and the horizons of their revolutionary connotations, which reject injustice and rebel against all forms of submission and defeat, and their blood will be the motivation to restore the stolen lands, the violated sanctities, and the lost dignity.
What we must realize is that the path of settlement and useless negotiations will only bring our cause more regression and humiliation, especially in these circumstances.
Resistance is not just about survival, it’s about dignity, honour, justice, and the right to exist on the land that our ancestors sacrificed their blood to keep.
They must know that our ideas are worth dying for.
